Good afternoon, I ask them a question. I printed satin (a type of fabric) in Latex 850, everything went perfect but today (3 days after delivery of the work) client called me to tell me that due to rain flags ink was running like watercolor, consultation is to know why this happened and if they have any recommendations for this type of work. Hi GastonGomez, I'll try to provide you some explanation for this problem, but if this persists i will recommend you to contact the HP Troubleshooting Team in order to get a better and more accurate answer: First of all, I will like to remember you that any application printed on textiles with HP Latex for outdoor must be always just for temporary use. The level of resistance to water or smudges being visible will depend on the substrate used. For outdoor application which are going to suffer sun or rain exposure, there are some materials that will perform better than others, because of its composition. Below I attach you a general list, from the most suitable to the less suitable for outdoor applications: - Textiles - Photorealistic Paper - Blue back Paper - Tyvek or HDPE - Self-adhesive vinyl and PVC Known workarounds for your problem: Fine-tune the settings by àIncreasing the heating and/or curing temperature whenever possible. Decrease the ink limit Increase the number of passes Use an alternative substrate with a coating. For paper based substrates, use a substrate which is more water resistant. For most substrates (except textile uncoated), wash the printed plot, just after being printed, with a sponge to remove any ink not perfectly cured => the plot can be then placed outside without any problem, and there will no longer be any ink runs be visible. For self Adhesive substrates, banner PVC… in most of the cases, it is possible to wash the plot, removing any traces as the pigments which had run on the plot (this is not possible on porous as then, the pigment with the issue will run within the substrate, will not stay at the top of the substrate, and then cannot be removed. In some cases, mainly for the textile, when the plot is left for sometime outside under sun, it will no longer show any issues. This phenomenon is still under investigation and characterization.
