I will recommend you in this case to create a new profile with a higher ink density and a highest number of passes. That will help you increase the color gamut and get closer to the desired color. Anyway, I will be able to help you a bit more in depth if you provide me some additional information: - Can you please provide me the name of the media you are having problems with? - Are you using a profile from the Media Solution Locator? - Which is the ink density and number of passes you are using?

hello marc I'm currently using a polymeric vinyl MACtac JT 5921 I made the profile from the machine using the MACtac profile jt 5929 , but putting the optimizer to 24 instead of 12 as per put the default profile . Print 10 passes. The problem of pantone already detected as I installed the HP 360, we had the hp 25500 but I thought it was the fault of the RIP and EFI utilizavamos before and now use the ONYX , but yesterday tube to do a reprint of a work that had printed with the HP 25500 with pantone 1815 and the result was that the 25500 to the pantone chart like pantone and HP360 not look anything , and the 25500 to the impression stay brighter , more vivid , which leads me to believe that the optimizer kills the color. It is not a personal opnion . I send you a photo so you can see how it goes the above is the 360 hp and below, the darker the 25500 . you will tell me thanks

hi again, You're right. If you increase the amount of optimizer you will make your colors to look less vivid. I will recommend you to left the default value of optimizer and increase the ink limit % in order to get more saturated colours. you must have into consideration that if you increase the ink limit % you will have to increase also the amount of passes or temperature in order to cure the plot.

In this particular case I will recommend to create a new profile. However, you should have into consideration that if you increase the % ink limit you will have to increase also the amount of passes or temperature in order to cure the plot. That will help you increase the color gamut, if that was the case. Besides, if you increase the amount of optimizer you will make your colors to look less vivid. Hence, I recommend you to leave the default value of optimizer and increase the % ink limit in order to get more saturated colors. I hope these tips help you to match the color that you are aiming for. If you require any further information, let me know. Besides, If you believe that answer has help you to solve your issue, please mark as “Accept as Solution”.

If you are using Onyx, then once you have created your media profile, if you are unhappy with the particular pantone, then you can use the Swatch Book Tool, this will allow you to more accurately create a match to the pantone you require. If you google 'Onyx Swatch Book Tool' you will find online video help in how to do this.
